Jean Marie Pohlot, MPAS, PA-C
Jean Marie Pohlot is a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a comprehensive background in delivering patient care across various medical specialties. She has been practicing since 1997, providing compassionate and patient-centered care at Southwest Medical Center (SWMC). Jean holds a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) and is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
She began her academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from the University of Pittsburgh, followed by her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Duquesne University. As part of her clinical training, Jean Marie completed rotations in multiple specialties, including an internal medicine rotation at Southwest Medical Center.
With a patient-focused approach, Jean strives to support patients in managing their overall wellness, ensuring that they understand their medical conditions and actively participate in decision-making regarding their care. Her approach emphasizes clear communication, education, and a strong rapport with patients, allowing them to feel heard and empowered in their health journey.
Throughout her career, Jean has enjoyed building long-term relationships with her patients, caring for them and fostering continuity of care. Her patients often praise her for being a good listener and her ability to explain complex medical information in simple, understandable terms.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, skiing, hiking and foraging, biking, and kayaking.
